Cynthia Tonnerre est une Artiste-Designer née à Papeete (Tahiti) en 1986.
Après un séjour en 2010 à l’Université de Wolverhampton en Angleterre au sein du département Product Design and Innovation – School of Creative Arts & Design, elle obtient un Master option Design en 2012 à l’École Européenne Supérieure d’Art de Bretagne – Site de Rennes, puis part en résidence de recherche et création en Chine au Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute. En 2014, elle termine son cursus par un post-diplôme « Kaolin : Art & Design en céramique contemporaine » à l’École Nationale Supérieure d’Art de Limoges.
Passionnée par l’histoire des objets présents dans la vie quotidienne. Cynthia Tonnerre, mène un travail basé sur la recherche et l’expérimentation où elle explore les origines des objets et les rituels du quotidien. Le travail de Cynthia Tonnerre, est doublé d’une volonté de compréhension des processus de fabrication, devenue si lointaine dans l’industrialisation, en portant un regard sur les matériaux, les techniques industrielles et artisanales autour d’une même volonté d’innovation.
Cynthia Tonnerre is an Artist-Designer born in Papeete (Tahiti) in 1986.
After a stay in 2010 at the University of Wolverhampton in England at the Product Design and Innovation Department – School of Creative Arts & Design, she obtained a Master Degree in Design in 2012 at the European School of Art in Brittany – Site de Rennes, then goes to a research and creation residency in China at the Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute. In 2014, she finished her studies with a postgraduate degree « Kaolin: Art & Design in Contemporary Ceramics » at the National School of Art of Limoges.
Fascinated by the history of objects in everyday life. Cynthia Tonnerre, leads a work based on research and experimentation where she explores the origins of objects and rituals of everyday life. The work of Cynthia Tonnerre, is coupled with a desire to understand the manufacturing process become so distant in industrialization, paying attention at the materials, industrial and crafts around common innovative approach.
